Anyways, Lestrade is based off of Granada Lestrade, and Gregson is based off of canon descriptions, since I couldn't seem to find actors that had played him.

I don't really have stories on how they met their Pokemon except for how Lestrade met his Mightyena, Rex. He had found it as a puppy Poochyena on the streets of London, and not realizing (not bothering to check) that it was female, had assumed it a male and named it Rex. It is not for several weeks/months until someone finally points out that "he" is actually a "she", but by then the name had stuck.
Main reason I chose those Pokemon for them is 1) Gregson and Lestrade's rivalry made me give both of them beginning birds from Kanto, with Gregson getting Pidgeot because he is described as more intellectually smart than Lestrade, and serious as well. Lestrade, meanwhile, is a more hardworking type guy who relies on persistence to get the job done. So yeah, I chose the Pokemon based more on physical appearance.
And 2) Stantler for Gregson because he's not super intelligent, like Holmes, but rather just much more intelligent than the usual lot of the Scotland Yard, and Stantler is a normal type who still uses pyschic moves!
As for Mightyena, I just thought the unlikeliness of a dark scruffy type for Lestrade, who's part of the police force, would be cute, haha.
